One can call at 333 regarding fuel related issues
Petrobangla and Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) are being connected to the national helpline number 333. As a result, energy users can complain any issues regarding fuel-related matters by calling 333. Energy Division Secretary Nurul Alam informed that the decision has been taken to connect the national helpline through the a2i project.
"A formal announcement will come soon," he said, adding that energy users will be able to report their complaints to 333 after the announcement.
According to sources in the Energy Division, they have already contacted the a2i project. The a2i project has discussed to provide training to the concerned people of the energy department in this regard.
Energy consumers in the country mainly get fuel from two main sources. One is Petrobangla and the other is Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC). All the companies that extract, distribute, transmit and even import gas from abroad are under Petrobangla.
On the other hand, BPC's companies Padma, Meghna and Jamuna marketize fuel oil. These oil companies control retail dealers and other sellers. But in such a large sector, if a consumer feels that he is being deceived or not getting proper service, then there is no immediate complaint or remedial system.
But other departments of the same ministry have this system i.e., in power sector. Power distribution companies have their own hotlines. But there was no such arrangement in the Department of Energy so far. After taking charge from the additional secretary of the power division as the secretary of the energy division, he instructed to take a hotline number for energy consumers to complain. But in the end, it is decided to be associated with the national helpline number.
National Service Call Centre-333 started its journey with the slogan 'Government Information and Service All the Time' with the aim of reaching government services and information to all classes of people for the implementation of Digital Bangladesh. Citizens of the country can receive the service by calling 333 and expatriates can call 09666789333.
