BTRC Commissioner AKM Shahiduzzaman passed away

  BTRC Commissioner AKM Shahiduzzaman has breathed his last at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Medical University on Sunday night . (Inna-lillah wa inna ilaihi rajiun). He is survived by his wife and a number of well-wishers, including a son and a daughter. At the time of writing, the deceased was being taken to his home on Iqbal Road in Mohammadpur. According to family sources, Mr. Shahiduzzaman suddenly felt chest pain in the evening. Although he was taken to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Medical University, he died while undergoing treatment at CCU-2. Funeral prayers will be held in front of BTRC head office tomorrow at 11 am. BTRC family has extended their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. The Digibangla family is deeply saddened by his death. Engineer AKM Shahiduzzaman was appointed as the new commissioner of Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) on January 11 last year. Earlier, since the establishment of BTRC in 2002, he has played a very important role till his retirement in 2019. He served as Deputy Director from 2002 to 2004, Director from 2004 to 2010 and Director General from 2010 to 2019. Prior to joining BTRC, he served as Assistant Engineer (Electrical) at Bangladesh Inland Water Development Authority (BIWTA) for 10 years, managing, maintaining and controlling the Differential Global Positioning System from 1992 to 2002. AKM Shahiduzzaman is also the founding president of BTRC Officers Welfare Association and president of Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology (DUET) Chhatra League Alumni Association (DUECA). He was born on 13 November 1960 in Kanchabalia village of Gava Ramchandrapur union of Barisal, Jhalokati.
