Bluesky launches Direct Messaging feature
Microblogging social platform 'Bluesky', one of X's (formerly Twitter) rivals, is adding new features to strengthen its position. Now the microblogging social platform is launching Direct Messaging (DM) feature to attract users. The company also said it plans to introduce end-to-end encryption on its direct messaging service soon. News Techtimes.
Until now users could do messaging openly on Bluesky. However, since the new DM feature has been launched, users will get the opportunity of private messaging from now on. To use the Direct Messaging feature, click on the 'Chat' tab of Bluesky's desktop or mobile app. However, users will have to wait for some more time to get the group messaging feature, the company said. Bluesky's app will include the feature to send messages to others by default. However, the user can control receiving messages from others.
Although not launching all the popular features like X, Bluesky said that it is working to bring new features. Recently, the platform introduced a feed customizer button with 'Show more like this' and 'Show less like this' options, allowing users to customize the news feed wall as desired.
The company claims that Bluesky's direct messaging feature will give users an experience similar to using X or Threads of Meta.
