WhatsApp and Applink to receive telecom complaints

Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (BTRC) is going to integrate ‘WhatsApp' service to receive complaints from customers about various services in the telecom sector. Besides, mobile phone operator Banglalink has created an app store called 'Applink' for the purpose. Earlier, the state-owned operator Teletalk had sent 9 numbers to the regulatory body BTRC in response for a golden number. Out of those numbers, the regulatory body has finalized the number 0151-0100000. Work has also started to integrate the number into WhatsApp. BTRC has also decided to launch AI chatbot on WhatsApp-Facebook and Smart IVR with shortcode '100'. Service users will start getting this service shortly. Meanwhile, Banglalink has already received conditional permission from the regulatory body to sell its various products and services as well as to launch a digital marketplace. BTRC has allowed Banglalink to launch this Appstore as 'Cellular Mobile Phone Operator-Telecom Value Added Service Provider - CMPO-TVAS'.
