The first smart village fair took place in Damudya

The country's first digital village, Smart Village Expo was held in Damudya of Shariatpur District under Dhaka Division, which is connected to Barisal and Khulna Divisions. In the day-long fair held on Friday at the local upazila complex grounds, small and medium entrepreneurs participated in the fair with a total of 63 local and national stalls. From traditional Shataranchi to homely designs, with handloom fabrics and jewelry – the ' alter canvas '; ' Different Beauty ', ' Bibi Bossan ', ' Rainbow Boutique '; ' surprise '; 'Jamdani Express'; 35 percent of entrepreneurs like ' Dhakaya Jamdani ' and 'Swapnachawa' were women entrepreneurs.

In the diversity of the fair, along with pottery and terracotta fashion, Mother Bengal's soil, craft vision, along with herbal spices and honey and more productive vegetables, packet mushrooms, various products and services caught the attention of the fair. In addition to Internet Service Providers Association ISPB and Infolink , Muthofene's own web site creation service ' Webmanja ' participated in the fair. The cake chat was not left out. In addition to E-Palli , E-Farmer , Fosal.com , 14 local enterprises like Swapnakundi, Adavik, Datanappa, appeared in the fair with agricultural technology.

On the occasion of Children's Day , I Express appeared at the fair with a book about Bangabandhu's childhood . There was a crowd of visitors at the end of the fair, except for the Friday prayer break between product display-selling-buying and lottery draw. ' Health Bandhu ' provided medical services including free diabetics and blood pressure tests to those who came to the fair . Foodpanda and Daraz were the sponsors of the fair.

After visiting the fair in the afternoon, Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi urged the entrepreneurs to spread the initiative in every village of the country. Local Member of Parliament Nahim Razzak pledged to transform every village of Shariatpur into a smart village through the sustainable use of technology in agriculture.

On the occasion of Bangabandhu's 103rd birth anniversary, the Chief Coordinator of the Prime Minister's Office (SDG Affairs) Md. Akhtar Hossain, among others, was present at the event to inform journalists about the fair held jointly by the Business Promotion Council (BPC) and E-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB) of the Ministry of Commerce. SME Foundation Managing Director Dr. Mofizur Rahman, Commerce Ministry Additional Secretary and BPC Coordinator Md. Abdur Rahim Khan, Shariatpur Deputy Commissioner Md. Parvez Hasan, Daraz Managing Director Md. Syed Mostahidal Haque, Foodpanda Managing Director Syeda Ambareen Reza and e-CAB General Editor Mohammad Abdul Waheed Tamal.

Damudya Upazila Nirbahi Officer Hasiba Khan presided over a band music event in the evening on the Government Abdur Razzak College ground. Earlier, Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi inaugurated the QR code-based NFC technology-based personalized initiative ' Chikitsa' app in the event.
