Tech-professionals stand by flood victims with one-day salary

Vast areas of Chattogram and Sylhet divisions were affected by the flashflood. Millions of people are trapped in water. Cropland has sunk. Herds of cattle have been swept away. In addition to participating in the rescue work at such a disastrous moment, technology professionals and organizations are donating their one day's salaries. Starting from media workers of various online portals, fintech companies have come forward in this initiative.

All the employees of bKash have already donated their one-day salary to the fintech organization bKash to stand by the flood-affected people across the country. The announcement was made in a post on the official Facebook page of bKash Limited on Thursday (August 22) in the afternoon.

Similar initiatives have been taken by various organizations including online news portal Digi Bangla tec, Dhaka Post, Dhaka Mail.

Meanwhile, among the technical organizations, e-CAB and BASIS are working in flood-affected areas with speedboats for rescue work with dry food and essential medicines.

Popular online educational platform Ten Minute School has joined this caravan. In addition to a day's salary for the staff, an equivalent amount will be paid from the Ten Minute School Fund.
