Cultural Celebration Concludes at JUST

The week-long Cultural Competition 2024 at Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) concluded with a prize distribution ceremony on Monday evening at the university's central gallery. The competition featured events such as music, dance, extempore speech, group and solo performances in acting and recitation, and debates.

Organized by the Student Counseling and Guidance Office under the banner of the Inter-University Cultural Competition 2024, the event aimed to foster creativity and camaraderie among students.

Vice-Chancellor’s Address

Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Majid, Vice-Chancellor of JUST, graced the closing ceremony as the chief guest. In his address, he emphasized the significance of such events in enhancing networking and adaptability among students. "These activities foster mutual understanding and build bridges, which will benefit our students when they step into the global arena. JUST is advancing in research, and we must also excel in our humanitarian endeavors. I envision our graduates as the finest in the country and aim to position JUST as a world-class university," he said. He also extended his gratitude to all participants and organizers and warmly congratulated the winners.

Event Highlights and Acknowledgments

Presiding over the ceremony, Professor Dr. Md. Mir Mosharraf Hossain, Director of the Student Counseling and Guidance Office, commended the participants' enthusiasm and efforts. Other distinguished speakers included:

  • Professor Dr. Md. Sirajul Islam, Dean of the Faculty of Biological Science and Technology
  • Professor Dr. Md. Jafirul Islam, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences
  • Dr. Md. Amjad Hossain, Proctor

Faculty members in attendance included Associate Professors Dr. Md. Saiduzzaman and Dr. Suman Chandra Mohanta, Assistant Professors Dr. Md. Shahidul Islam, Kishor Kumar Sarkar, Dr. Md. Sabbir Hossain, Al-Walid, and Anushree Biswas, alongside lecturers and students from various departments.

Program Execution

The day's segments were conducted by JUST students Naushin Jahan Zerin, SM Samiul, Farhana Yasmin, and Binoy Kumar Bhowmik, who ensured the smooth execution of the proceedings. The event successfully showcased the vibrant talents and dynamic spirit of the JUST community, leaving a lasting impression on all attendees.
