AI-Powered 3T MRI Scanner Launched in Chattogram

An advanced 180-channel “Magnetom Lumina Pro Edition” 3-Tesla MRI machine equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) and biometrics technologies has been added to healthcare services in Chattogram. The new system was officially inaugurated on Wednesday, June 3, at the Chattogram branch of Popular Diagnostic Centre Limited.

The MRI machine was inaugurated by Dr. Shahadat Hossain. Speaking at the ceremony, he said that changing lifestyles are contributing to the rise of complex and emerging diseases, making accurate diagnosis increasingly important for effective treatment.

He noted that technology-driven medical equipment has made disease detection faster, easier, and more reliable.

Dr. Shahadat Hossain said that the state-of-the-art 3-Tesla MRI technology will play a significant role in diagnosing complex medical conditions and help patients access higher-quality healthcare services. Referring to Chattogram as the country’s second-largest city and a major economic hub, he added that ensuring international-standard healthcare services for its residents is now a necessity.

While addressing the event as a special guest, Dr. Mostafizur Rahman said that the new MRI system will enable brain and spinal MRI examinations to be completed in just three to four minutes. MRI scans of other parts of the body will also be conducted in less time compared to previous systems.

He further stated that, with the continued support of Chattogram residents, more advanced and internationally recognized medical technologies will be introduced in the future.

The event was moderated by Wali Ashraf Khan, Senior Manager of the Chattogram branch of Popular Diagnostic Centre Limited. Various officials, consultants, and employees of the organization were also present at the inauguration ceremony.
