A training workshop on “E-Communication and Digital Office Management” for officials of Gopalganj Science and Technology University (GSTU) has begun. The two-day event, organized by the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), is being held in Room 407 of the university’s academic building.

The workshop commenced at 10:00 am on Wednesday, October 15, and will conclude on Thursday. Each day’s sessions will run from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Joining virtually as the chief guest at the inaugural session, Professor Dr. Mashuma Habib, Member of the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh, said, “E-Communication and Digital Office Management is a timely and relevant training. If we can transform our officers into skilled human resources, they will be able to lead the university forward smartly. This will also save office time. However, efficiency cannot be achieved within two days of training. We must continue practicing after proper training.”

Presiding over the event, GSTU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Hossain Uddin Shekhar said, “The e-filing system has appeared as a new initiative for us. We are gradually progressing and must adapt to many new things. Although in many places e-filing exists, tasks meant for seven days sometimes take seven months. Yet, we are hopeful that with full implementation of e-filing, some changes will come to the system. As a university of science and technology, we need skilled manpower to turn our institution into a model one. This training workshop will serve as a step in that direction.”

Speaking as special guest, GSTU Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Sohel Hasan stated, “We will work paperlessly, work faster, and save time — this is a crucial issue. There is no alternative to timely work to make the university transparent and dynamic. We want everyone to come under accountability and discipline. Only then can we keep pace with the developed world.”

Also present as special guest was Dr. Durga Rani Sarkar, Director of UGC’s Strategic Planning and Quality Assurance Division. Mohammad Monir Ullah, Deputy Director of the same division, served as the resource person for the workshop.
