TikTok Tweaks Direct Messaging Tools
TikTok users will now be able to send voice notes and up to nine photos or videos directly through messages (DMs). The new feature is being rolled out gradually and will be available not only in private chats but also in group conversations, according to TechCrunch.
Reports state that the voice note feature allows users to send audio messages of up to 60 seconds. In addition, users will be able to edit and share photos and videos either taken directly or selected from their gallery. However, new messages will not allow users to send photos or videos for the first time; only pre-existing TikTok content can be shared.
While DMs remain disabled for users under 16, TikTok has added enhanced safety measures for those aged 16 to 18, including tools that detect and block images containing nudity.
