Meta Mobilizes: Multilingual Media Made Easy
Meta has launched an AI-powered voice translation feature for content creators worldwide on Facebook and Instagram. On Tuesday, the company announced that this new tool will allow creators to translate their content into other languages, reaching a broader audience. The news was reported by TechCrunch.
The feature was first announced last year at the Meta Connect Developer Conference. The AI translation technology is designed to use the creator’s own voice and tone, ensuring that dubbed content in new languages sounds natural. Creators can also enable a lip-sync function, which aligns the translated voice with mouth movements.
Initially, the service supports translation from English to Spanish and vice versa. To access the feature on Facebook, creators must have at least 1,000 followers, while it is available on all public Instagram accounts.
Meta has confirmed that additional languages will be added in the future. Adam Mosseri, Head of Instagram, said, “We want creators to overcome language barriers and reach audiences worldwide.”
