Palak urged to prepare for Smart University Challenge

8 government universities of the country have come under D-document live. Out of these 4 universities are science and technology universities. The universities are Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Khulna University, Haji Mohammad Danesh University of Science and Technology, Maulana Bhasani University of Science and Technology, Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology, Noakhali University of Science and Technology, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University and Sheikh Hasina University, Netrokona.

State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak inaugurated this program at the conference center of the University Grants Commission in Agargaon on Sunday. Meanwhile, the state minister challenged the university vice-chancellors to build green-clean and save smart campuses.

He said, we may start SmartCampus challenge competition soon with technology based solutions. Get prepared for it. To reach the 2041 target, we need to start working now. That is why we are now going to start the journey from D-documents to smart documents. Other frontier technologies, including AI, big data and blockchain, are now used to engage with digital documents. We want your cooperation to build a completely paperless office and campus.

Stating that the government is already setting up Unibators in universities to create a balance between industry and academia, the ICT State Minister wants to allocate space for this purpose in 63 more universities.   

He said, we are going to set up 10 more low-cost Unibators to fulfill the dreams of students. It has been decided to set up Unibator in government as well as some private universities. Research and development labs are being set up in 57 universities.
