The "Hello DC" mobile app has been launched to make services provided by the Dhaka District Administration simpler, faster, and more citizen-friendly. Through the app, citizens can book appointments to meet the deputy commissioner, and access a range of services, including NGO and licensing services, mutation, vested property matters, and financial assistance, all in a single app. The district administration said citizens will be able to access these services from home with a single click.
The app was officially launched on Tuesday, July 21, at the conference room of the Dhaka District Commissioner's office by Dhaka Divisional Commissioner Md. Moniruzzaman Mia. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Farida Khanam was present alongside him during the launch.
Officials said the app will be progressively enhanced, with plans to add new services in the future and turn it into a fully integrated digital service platform for the district administration.
After launching the app, Divisional Commissioner Md. Moniruzzaman Mia said, "The 'Hello DC' app is a timely initiative to make citizen services simpler, faster, and technology-driven. Innovative initiatives like this will bring district administration services closer to the people and play an important role in ensuring transparency and accountability in public service delivery."
He said the government is working tirelessly to maximize the use of information technology in order to reduce public suffering and improve service quality. Describing the "Hello DC" app as an effective example of that effort, Moniruzzaman Mia called on relevant officials and staff to carry out their duties sincerely to make the initiative a success. He said the main objective of the initiative is to build an effective digital service system by quickly addressing citizens' feedback and complaints.
In her remarks as chair of the event, Deputy Commissioner Farida Khanam said, "Our goal is to bring government services directly to people's doorsteps. This technology-driven initiative will significantly reduce citizens' time, costs, and hassle, helping make the district administration more transparent, accountable, and service-oriented. The 'Hello DC' app has been launched with exactly that purpose in mind."
Initially, the app can be downloaded directly from the website hellodc.bd. Once testing and review processes are complete, it will soon also be available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Citizens will also be able to download the app and access services through the official Facebook page of the Dhaka District Administration. In addition, citizens can access services by calling 01961606060 directly between 9 am and 4 pm every day.
According to the district administration, the "Hello DC" app allows citizens to communicate directly with officials. Users can submit applications, complaints, and suggestions related to land administration, law and order, relief, social safety, license issuance, and public grievances, while also being able to track the real-time status of their applications. The app also includes a feature for scheduling appointments to meet with the deputy commissioner.
District administration officials said the app will be modernized in phases, with plans to add new services going forward and eventually transform it into a comprehensive digital service hub.
