DMP Commissioner emphasized on CCTV surveillance, Online GD and lost phone recovery
Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Habibur Rahman has emphasized on keeping the CCTV in the city's houses active. He also put stress on recovering lost phones and solving server complications for online GD. He gave this instruction while speaking towards the Officers in Charge (OCs) of the police station at the April crime review meeting at Bangladesh Police Auditorium in Rajarbagh on Sunday, May 19.
While speaking as the chief guest, the DMP Commissioner said that the OC of each police station will ensure that cases are taken and appropriate legal measures are taken in case of robbery. Now almost all the houses in the capital have CC cameras. To prevent theft, check whether the CC camera is active or whether the lights at the backyards of the house are working or not.
He said, our internet-based system is facing problems due to server down or slow server. Care must be taken to ensure that the general public does not suffer due to server complications. GD will be done online if the server is functional, if not GD will be done manually.
DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman also said that crimes related to mobile phones cannot be ignored. Arrangements should be made to return the recovered mobile phone to the rightful owner. Besides, everyone should be warned about the use of mobile phones.
In the event, policemen of different levels of DMP were awarded in recognition of their good work in maintaining law and order and public safety in Dhaka city. Honorable guest Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Md. Atiqul Islam handed over the award.
Tejgaon Division has been the best among the Crime Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police. Mohammadpur police station appeared as the best police station. Mizanur Rahman, assistant police commissioner of Mohammadpur zone of Tejgaon division, was the best among assistant police commissioners. Mohammad Tofazzal Hossain, Inspector of Police (Investigation) of Mohammadpur police station, was the best among police inspectors (investigations). Md Sabuj Rahman, Inspector of Police (Operations) of Mohammadpur Police Station came out as the best among the Police Inspectors (Operations).

Chowkbazar Model Police Station SI Md. Mamun Hossain and SI Md Mofizur Rahman Akash of Mirpur Model Police Station were jointly selected as the best SI. ASI Md. Azgar Molla of Mirpur Model Police Station and ASI Anjay Halder of Mohammadpur Police Station were jointly selected as the best ASI.

Assistant Commissioner of Police of Chowkbazar zone Md. Shafiul Alam Sarkar became the best by recovering weapons. Md. Masudur Rahman of Bhatara police station excelled in recovering explosives. SI Al Helal of Dhanmondi Model Police Station excelled in recovering stolen cars. SI Nikles Chandra Kar Palash of Hazaribagh police station became the best in recovering drugs. SI Md. Mamun Hossain of Chowkbazar Model Police Station has been selected as the best warrant realizing officer.
Tejgaon Industrial Zone Assistant Commissioner of Police SM Arif Ryan emerged as the best among Assistant Commissioners of Police in Beat Policing yard meeting. Best Thana became Uttara West, Best SI, Debraj Chakraborty from Rupnagar Thana.
Among the intelligence departments, the detective-Lalbagh division became the best. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police of Lalbagh Zonal Team of Intelligence-Lalbagh Division Mustafa Kamal PPM was selected as the best team leader; He was also selected as the best in drug recovery. Assistant Commissioner of Police Mahfuzur Rahman of the Organized Crime and Car Theft Prevention Team of the Intelligence-Warrior Division has been selected as the best team leader in recovering stolen cars.

Traffic-Lalbagh division became the best among the traffic divisions. Piyush Kumar Dey, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Kotwali-Traffic Zone of Traffic-Lalbagh Division, has been named the Best Assistant Police Commissioner of Traffic. Jane Alam Bhunya, Inspector of Kotwali-Traffic Zone of Traffic Lalbagh Division, became the best traffic inspector. Gulshan-Traffic Zone Sergeant Md. Imran Hossain of Traffic-Gulshan Division and Demra-Traffic Zone Sergeant Md. Traffic-Wari Division Md. Centu Mia were jointly selected as the best sergeants.

Special awards were also given to several departments and various ranks of officers and forces including media and PR department of DMP.
Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime and Operations) Dr. b. Mahid Uddin, Additional Commissioner of Police (Logistics, Finance and Procurement) Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman BPM, Additional Police Commissioner (Traffic), Md. Munibur Rahman, Additional Police Commissioner (CTTC) Md. Asaduzzaman, Additional Commissioner of Police (Detective) Mohammad Haroon Or Rashid, Joint Commissioner of Police, Deputy Commissioner of Police and officers of various ranks were present.
