Banglalink, a leading digital operator in the country, observed Ethics & Compliance Week 2026 during August under the slogan “Ethics & Compliance Starts with Us,” reaffirming its commitment to embedding integrity, transparency, and responsible growth across all operations.
The five-day program brought together executives, employees, frontline workers, and business partners, along with a visiting delegation from Banglalink's parent company, VEON. The visiting team included Gabriela Gutierrez (Group Head of Ethics & Compliance), Sarwat Salauddin (Group Head of Investigation), Dovgulya Sergey Igorevich (Interim Head of Compliance Culture & Engagement), and Ahsan Minto (Group Investigations Senior Manager).
Activities throughout the week featured daily quizzes, awareness sessions, interactive discussions, and regional market visits to engage directly with local communities, retailers, and customers. Key events included a Leadership Roundtable focusing on integrity as a strategic advantage, psychological safety, and compliance culture, alongside an interactive CEO fireside chat emphasizing open dialogue and ethical decision-making.
Furthermore, a dedicated session titled "Building Trusted and Responsible Partnerships" brought together around 80 local and international business partner representatives to discuss third-party risk management, transparency, and continuous compliance.
Johan Buse, Chief Executive Officer of Banglalink, stated, "At Banglalink, we believe lasting success is defined not only by what we achieve, but also by how we achieve it. Ethics & Compliance Week brought our people, leaders, and business partners together around a shared responsibility."
Gabriela Gutierrez added that when leadership leads by example and employees speak up, integrity becomes the operational standard. Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer Muniruzzaman Sheikh highlighted that embedding these values into daily performance continuously strengthens trust across the entire ecosystem.
