The Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee has announced a special provision for candidates who were unable to sit for the 2026 HSC Physics 1st Paper examination due to severe adverse weather. Candidates across the country who remained absent owing to natural disruptions will be allowed to sit for the exam through a re-registration process.

Education Minister Dr. A N M Ehsanul Hoque Milan confirmed the development on Thursday (July 23), announcing that the remaining HSC and equivalent exams under the Chittagong Education Board—which were previously suspended due to flash floods—will resume on July 27. Candidates will participate in the remaining exams according to the standard routine. For the papers that were conducted elsewhere but postponed in Chittagong, a revised schedule will be announced later.

Earlier on July 16, considering the flood situation, transport hazards, and physical-mental stress of the students, the remaining examinations under the Chittagong Board, Alim under the Madrasah Board, and technical streams were temporarily suspended. However, examinations under all other general and technical boards outside the affected region have been proceeding as scheduled.

This year, a total of 1,270,583 examinees from 9,439 institutions are appearing for the HSC and equivalent tests across 2,697 centers nationwide. Dhaka Board accounts for the highest number of candidates at 300,393. The board authorities noted that updated schedules and further technological notices regarding the re-registration process will be published promptly on the official board portals.
