Nagad Nets New Notable Record in October
In the recently concluded month of October, Bangladesh Post Office’s digital transaction service, Nagad, set a new record for the highest monthly transactions. During this month, the institution processed transactions exceeding BDT 34,705 crore. The single-day peak occurred on 15 October, when Nagad customers completed transactions totaling BDT 1,645 crore.
Previously, Nagad had crossed the BDT 34,000 crore mark in March of the current year, and before that, in June 2024, transactions through the platform totaled BDT 32,000 crore.
Nagad officials highlighted that government allowance distributions played a significant role in achieving this record. During October, the service distributed allowances to nearly 7.9 million beneficiaries through the Department of Social Services and the Directorate of Women Affairs. Other notable transaction types contributing to the record included cash-in, cash-out, send money, payments, and mobile recharges. The combined volume of these transactions helped Nagad set the new milestone.
Commenting on the achievement, Nagad Administrator Md. Motashim Billah congratulated all customers, employees, and entrepreneurs involved. He said, “Success never happens by chance. It is the result of everyone’s collective effort and hard work. Moreover, when everyone works with a shared goal and value system, striving for excellence becomes easier.”
Md. Motashim Billah further stated, “As a digital transaction institution under the Bangladesh Post Office, Nagad is advancing with improved services to ensure greater security for customers’ funds. The current management board has earned significantly more trust from customers, and it is this trust that continues to drive higher transaction volumes.”
