TikTok Transition: New App in the Works Amid U.S. Sale Plan
As part of its plan to continue operations in the United States, TikTok is reportedly developing a new version of its app, according to a report by The Information. The report indicates that the new app may launch on September 5, while the current version is expected to be phased out by March next year. However, this timeline remains subject to change. The report further states that U.S. President Donald Trump recently announced he would initiate talks with China regarding the sale of TikTok and that the government has “a nearly finalized deal.”
