A letter circulating on social media claiming that Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami expressed support for the ongoing protest by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi has sparked controversy. Several Indian media outlets also reported that the Bangladeshi political party had publicly endorsed the movement. However, the authenticity of the document has been widely questioned, with independent observations suggesting it may have been generated using artificial intelligence (AI).

According to reports by Republic News and News18, Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh allegedly extended support to the CJP protest while describing the demonstrators as "miscreants."

A review of the circulated letter shows that it lacks several features commonly found in official political correspondence, including an official registration number, reference number, and registered office address. Observers also noted that the document does not match the standard letterhead and formatting typically used by Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh.

A private fact-checking organization said that multiple AI-detection tools indicated a high probability that the document was AI-generated. However, AI-detection software alone cannot conclusively verify or disprove the authenticity of a document.

Meanwhile, student protests continue in India over allegations of medical admission examination paper leaks, with demonstrators demanding the resignation of the country's education minister. On Monday, clashes reportedly occurred after protesters attempted to march toward Parliament and were stopped by police.

Analysts say political debate has also emerged over attempts to portray the movement as being backed by foreign actors or as an anti-government campaign. Independent verification and official responses from the concerned parties are still awaited.
