Railways Begin Sale of Advance Train Tickets for 24 March Eid Return Travel
On the second day of advance ticket sales for train travel for people returning home after the festival of Eid-ul-Fitr, seat tickets for trains scheduled to depart on 24 March are being sold through the railway’s app and website.
The ticket server was opened for booking at 8:00 am on Saturday, 14 March. At that time, seat tickets for all intercity trains of the railway’s western region were released. Meanwhile, advance seat ticket sales for all intercity trains of the eastern region will begin from 2:00 pm.
Earlier, according to the decision of the railway authorities, tickets for 23 March were sold on 13 March. Tickets for 25 March will be sold on 15 March, tickets for 26 March on 16 March, tickets for 27 March on 17 March, tickets for 28 March on 18 March, and tickets for 29 March on 19 March.
It has also been decided that tickets for 20, 21, and 22 March will be sold based on the sighting of the moon. At passengers’ request, 25 percent of non-AC coach tickets will be available as standing tickets, which can be collected from the originating station before the start of the journey.
For Eid travel, a passenger will be allowed to purchase advance tickets only once, with a maximum of four seats per transaction. No tickets will be eligible for refund.
