‘Smart Election Management BD’ App Launched to Help Voters Find Polling Centres
The Election Commission (EC) has launched an app titled “Smart Election Management BD”, enabling voters to locate their designated polling centres using their National Identity Card (NID) numbers.
The information was disclosed in a press release signed on Monday, 3 February, by Md. Ruhul Amin Mallik, Director of the EC’s Public Relations Wing. He said the app is available on both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. Through the app, users can view detailed information about their polling centres, including geo-location, photographs, distance, and map directions.
In addition, the app provides comprehensive election-related information, including details of registered political parties, affidavits of contesting candidates, election results, and other relevant electoral data.
The app had also been introduced during the 12th National Parliamentary Election. According to data available on the Google Play Store, the app has been downloaded over 1 million times as of the time of reporting, with a user rating of 3.7.
