Bangladesh emerged champion in both the men’s and women’s categories at the four-day 39th Bangladesh Amateur Golf Championship 2025, held with the participation of golfers from eight countries.

In the men’s team event, Bangladesh ‘C’ team—comprising Md Abdul Qader and Sharif Hossain—clinched the championship title, while Bangladesh ‘A’ team—Abu Bakar Siddique and Shafiqul Islam—finished as runners-up. In the women’s team event, Bangladesh Women’s ‘A’ team—Sonia Akter and Rinki Akter—secured the championship, with Bangladesh Women’s ‘B’ team—Nasima Akter and Jaima Binte Hossain—finishing runners-up.

In the individual events, Sharif Hossain and Sonia Akter of Bangladesh won the titles in the men’s and women’s categories respectively.

At the prize-giving ceremony held on December 19 following the final round, winners received vivo’s new flagship smartphone X300 Pro along with a 2.35x telephoto extender kit developed in collaboration with ZEISS as special gifts. A special prize was also awarded to the golfer selected for a hole-in-one achievement.

Trophies were presented to the winners by the chief guest, Chief of Army Staff of Bangladesh and President of the Bangladesh Golf Federation, General Waker-Uz-Zaman.

Also present at the ceremony were Lieutenant General Mohammad Shaheenul Haque, Senior Vice President of the Bangladesh Golf Federation; Hafizur Rahman, Vice President; Brigadier General (Retd) Mohammad Sayeed Siddiqui, Secretary General; Ahsan Rajib, Senior Corporate Manager of vivo Bangladesh; Brigadier General (Retd) Abidur Reza Khan, Tournament Director; Selim Fakir, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports; along with other senior officials.

In a press release issued on Saturday, December 20, it was stated that the international golf tournament was organised by the Bangladesh Golf Federation with vivo Bangladesh as the power partner. To showcase the tournament through modern technology, vivo’s flagship smartphone X300 Pro was used throughout the event.

Key moments, long-distance action shots, and special highlights of the tournament were captured using the 200-megapixel ZEISS APO telephoto lens of the X300 Pro, along with the 2.35x telephoto extender kit co-engineered with ZEISS.
