Metro Rail to Operate on Friday Despite Earlier Shutdown Announcement
Although an earlier announcement declared that metro rail services would remain suspended on Friday, Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) has now confirmed that metro rail will operate as per the regular schedule.
The clarification came through a post on DMTCL’s official Facebook page at 8:25 pm on Thursday, 11 December.
Earlier, DMTCL’s regular officers and employees had announced a complete work stoppage and suspension of passenger services from 7:00 am on Friday (12 December), protesting the delay in drafting and publishing a comprehensive employment policy.
However, with Thursday night’s announcement, the authorities have confirmed that metro rail services will continue on Friday as usual.
