Meta Moves in India: Arun Srinivas Appointed as Country Head
Meta Platforms announced on Monday that Arun Srinivas will assume the role of Managing Director and Head of India operations starting July 1. Srinivas is currently serving as the Head of Ads for Meta India, reports Reuters.
The appointment comes at a time when Meta is entangled in a legal standoff with the Competition Commission of India (CCI). Last November, the CCI imposed a fine on Meta for anti-competitive practices and barred WhatsApp from sharing user data with other Meta-owned apps for a period of five years.
Meta contested the order, expressing concerns over potential business disruptions. However, earlier this year, an Indian tribunal temporarily suspended the data-sharing ban—bringing significant relief to the tech giant.
