Fortnite Finds Its Way Back to Apple App Store

After nearly five years of absence, Epic Games’ popular title Fortnite is set to return to the Apple App Store in the United States. According to a report by Engadget, Epic recently resubmitted the game to the App Store, following a landmark court ruling.
The court recently ruled that Apple can no longer collect commissions on transactions made outside of the App Store. In response, Epic announced that Fortnite would return to iOS and unveiled a new alternative sales platform for app developers.
Epic stated that it will not charge any commission on the first $1 million earned through its app in the first year. It has also introduced an alternative purchasing channel called “Webshop,” which offers users a lower-cost option for making purchases compared to Apple’s in-app system.
Apple, however, has appealed the ruling and has sought an emergency stay from the court.
