Sophos Launches ‘Sophos Fusion’ to Strengthen AI-Driven Cyber Defense
Cybersecurity company Sophos has introduced Sophos Fusion, a next-generation cyber defense system designed to help organizations combat the growing wave of artificial intelligence (AI)-powered cyberattacks. The new platform integrates security tools, managed services, threat intelligence and human expertise into a unified defense ecosystem.
According to Sophos, the rapid adoption of AI has significantly increased the speed, scale and sophistication of cyber threats. While cybercriminals can now compromise organizations within hours instead of days, many IT and security teams continue to rely on fragmented tools that slow incident detection and response.
To address this challenge, Sophos Fusion has been developed as an adaptive cyber defense platform that continuously improves as new threat intelligence becomes available.
The platform is built on four core capabilities. Shared Context Lake consolidates real-time security telemetry from multiple sources into a unified data environment. Synchronized Security enables all security controls to respond simultaneously when a threat is detected anywhere within the network. Agentic Autonomy allows AI to take autonomous defensive actions under the supervision of security analysts, while Compounding Intelligence continuously strengthens security by learning from newly identified threats and attack patterns.
Sophos Chief Executive Officer Joe Levy said AI is dramatically increasing the speed, scale and complexity of cyberattacks, making it essential for organizations to adopt intelligent and adaptive security strategies.
“Organizations need modern cyber defense that is continuous, intelligent and capable of adapting to evolving threats. Sophos Fusion is designed to combine the strengths of human expertise and AI to deliver stronger cyber resilience,” he said.
Sophos Fusion brings together Endpoint Protection, Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), Extended Detection and Response (XDR), Next-Generation SIEM, Identity Threat Detection and Response (ITDR), Managed Detection and Response (MDR), network security, email security, cloud security and advisory services within a single platform.
The company also said the platform supports integration with more than 500 third-party security tools in addition to Sophos' own security products. This enables organizations to manage endpoints, firewalls, identity systems and other security technologies through a unified cyber defense framework.
