“Eksathe Alada” to Premiere on Hoichoi This Eid with Romantic Comedy Twist
Ahead of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, the OTT platform Hoichoi is set to release the special web film “Eksathe Alada”. This one-hour romantic-comedy film is directed by filmmaker Rezaur Rahman, marking his debut project on Hoichoi.
The trailer, released on social media on 8 March, Sunday, suggests a story full of love, chaos, and a spectrum of emotions, packaged within the comedy genre.
The film features popular actors of the time, Yash Rohan and Parsa Ivana, in the two leading roles. This will be their first appearance together on the Hoichoi platform. Alongside them, the cast includes Tarek Anam Khan, Tushar Khan, Rozi Siddiqui, Dipa Khandakar, and several others in key roles.
The story revolves around the notion that marriage is sacred and beautiful, yet not for everyone. The protagonists, Farhan and Amira, confront a reality in which they realize they are trapped in a dead, empty relationship. In this situation, they are unsure of what to do, and happiness seems elusive—always appearing on the opposite side of where they stand.
The narrative explores Farhan and Amira’s internal conflicts alongside familial and societal pressures, which form the core of the story aptly titled “Eksathe Alada”.
Director Rezaur Rahman stated, “This story primarily revolves around modern-day relationships. Love exists, but so do personal freedom and work pressures, changing the dynamics of relationships. Through the trailer, we wanted to give a glimpse of this story. Both Yash and Parsa have delivered remarkable performances. I hope audiences enjoy the full film.”
Actor Yash Rohan said, “The moment I read the script, I felt it was a very familiar story—one that happens all around us. That’s why I chose to be part of it. Working with Rezaur is always enjoyable. With the trailer out, I hope viewers find even more to appreciate in the web film upon its release.”
Actress Parsa Ivana added, “This character was challenging and quite different for me. Although it’s a romantic comedy, it contains many subtle emotional layers. The trailer gives a glimpse of that atmosphere. Working with Yash was wonderful, and we both tried to convey the story’s emotions accurately.”
The film is written by Rezaur Rahman and Karina Kaiser, produced by Syed Ahmed Shawki, with Shahriar Islam serving as executive producer. Cinematography is by Ishtiaq Hossain, editing by Mahfuzul Haq Ashik, music composed by Khaiyam Sanu Sandhi, sound design by Ripon Nath, and makeup by Kazi Asmita Pranjali and Sujon Bepari. Costume design is by Swapna Rani Bain, with art direction by Md. Rinku.
“Eksathe Alada” is scheduled to premiere on Hoichoi on 19 March.
