Nagad Notches New Record with March Transaction Milestone
In the recently concluded month of March, Bangladesh Post Office’s digital financial service, Nagad, recorded its highest-ever monthly transaction volume, surpassing BDT 34,000 crore. The record-breaking single-day peak occurred on March 20, when Nagad users transacted over BDT 1,500 crore in just 24 hours.
The majority of these transactions included cash-in, cash-out, send money, payments, and mobile recharges. The spike in usage was significantly driven by the ongoing campaign titled “Utsober Khushi Nagad-e Beshi”, which offered hourly rewards throughout the month, drawing widespread customer engagement.
In celebration of the milestone, Nagad’s administrator, Md. Motasim Billah, extended his gratitude to customers, employees, entrepreneurs, and all stakeholders involved. He stated, “Success never happens by chance. It is the result of collective hard work and effort. When everyone shares the same vision and values, the pursuit of excellence becomes easier.”
Previously, Nagad had reached a transaction total of around BDT 32,000 crore in June 2024. On January 9, the company hit another milestone by surpassing BDT 2,000 crore in transactions in a single day, with the final tally reaching approximately BDT 2,100 crore.
