Facebook Page of Galachipa UNO Hacked, Controversial Post Shared

The official Facebook page of the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Galachipa, Patuakhali, was hacked on Sunday night, with the hacker posting a controversial status about resigning from government service. The page, named "UNO Galachipa (Upazila Administration Galachipa)", was reportedly compromised, and the post quickly went viral.
The unauthorized post attributed to UNO Mizanur Rahman read:
"One major allegation against me is that I was once involved with the Chhatra League. Yes, I was. So what? Even ‘Nuru Bhai’ (President of the Gana Odhikar Parishad) was once a Chhatra League activist. He even once touched the feet of the leader (Sheikh Hasina) in respect. Does that make him any less popular now? We are not ashamed of the ideals of Bangabandhu because this nation was born through his leadership. Another allegation against me is corruption. Who is free from it? Those who do not engage in corruption simply do not get the opportunity. I want to live with my head held high. I will not continue in this administration. My younger sister Urmi also didn’t take up this job. So why should I? It’s as simple as that. One day, our time will come. Every dog has its barking day."
Following the incident, UNO Mizanur Rahman filed a General Diary (GD) at Galachipa Police Station and held a press conference at the Galachipa Officers' Club on Sunday night.
During the press briefing, he stated, "False information is being spread using my hacked page, which could mislead the public. Therefore, I have sought legal assistance and filed a GD with the police. The page is still under the hackers' control, and efforts are underway to retrieve it." He urged the public not to be misled by misinformation and called on law enforcement agencies to investigate the matter and take necessary action.
In response to the incident, Gana Odhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur remarked, "A vested group has been harassing the Galachipa UNO for quite some time with misleading and baseless allegations, as they were unable to extract undue benefits from him. Now, they have hacked his Facebook page and launched a vile propaganda campaign. Those responsible must be held accountable and punished accordingly."
Confirming the matter, Galachipa Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Asadur Rahman said, "We have received a General Diary (GD) from the UNO. An investigation is underway, and appropriate legal action will be taken. Meanwhile, we are working to recover the hacked page by coordinating with Facebook authorities."
