Singer Parsha Mahjabeen, who gained attention for performing the song Ami Bhule Jai on the ukulele during a student uprising, narrowly escaped a life-threatening incident on Saturday. The artist, who recently appeared in the Valentine’s Day web film Ghumpari, was on her way to a recording studio when the vehicle she was traveling in caught fire.
According to reports, the incident occurred around noon on Saturday, March 15. Parsha was en route from her residence in Bashundhara Residential Area to a studio in Banani when the car, which she had booked through Uber, suddenly caught fire. Fortunately, she managed to exit the vehicle in time, avoiding serious injury.
Parsha shared the news on her Facebook account, posting a video of the burning car with flames engulfing it while people attempted to douse the fire with water.
At 2:20 PM, she wrote in a Facebook post, "Just moments ago, my Uber caught fire in front of Kurmitola Hospital. My throat is still burning from the smoke. For the first few seconds, I couldn’t even open the car door. The fire was raging! I don’t know how I survived!"
Speaking to journalists, she recounted, "I live in Bashundhara. Today, I had a recording session for a jingle and a drama soundtrack. So, I left my house as planned. Around 1 PM, as we reached the opposite side of Kurmitola Hospital, the car suddenly caught fire. The gas fumes made my eyes and throat burn. I had no idea what to do. I was alone in the car, and initially, I couldn’t open the door. I panicked. This could have been a major accident. Allah saved me."
Parsha Mahjabeen began her career in 2021 by lending her voice to Dujon Here Jai, a duet from Rafat Mazumder Rinku’s drama Light Camera Action. Over the past three years, she has sung for several drama soundtracks, including Copy Paste, Putuler Songshar, and Je Prem Eshechhilo.
