Shaikh Siraj emphasize developing technology to get fair price for farmers
Shaikh Siraj, Head of Channel I News, believes that innovation will be created in traditional sectors like agriculture by the hands of the youth. For this reason, he called upon the innovative technology youth to solve the Agritech startups to ensure fair price to the farmers.
He made this call in the session on the possibility of Agritech Startups held with Fahad Ifaz, CEO of iFarm at the Crystal Ballroom of Hotel InterContinental at the Bangladesh Startup Summit 2023 premises on Sunday afternoon.
Shaikh Siraj opined that, we will be able to build hi-tech agriculture culture in Bangladesh with IoT and AI based solutions. At the same time, he expects that large amount of domestic and foreign investment will come in this sector. For this, he emphasized solution-based digital innovation from mechanization. This media personality, widely known for Mati O Manush, has called for 'Carbon Deposit' in the land of Bangladesh to take advantage of global opportunities, as well as adopting global quality certification for export agricultural products.
He said that although 56 percent of the country has a smartphone, but even 3-5 percent of farmers do not know how to use it in farming. For this reason, Shaikh Siraj thinks that the farmers of Bangladesh are smart enough but they are lagging behind in agricultural technology. He said, if the educated youth focus on agriculture, high-tech agriculture will develop in the country through vertical growth.
