KUET to Build 10-Story Dormitory with 1,200 Beds
The interim government has approved a procurement proposal for the construction of a new 10-story dormitory with 1,200 beds at Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET). The project is estimated to cost BDT 113 crore 18 lakh 84 thousand and 7.
The approval was given during a meeting of the Government Procurement Advisory Council Committee, presided over by Financial Advisor Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed, held on Tuesday (January 7) at the Cabinet Division’s conference room in the Secretariat.
According to meeting sources, the construction of the new dormitory falls under the infrastructure and academic expansion project of KUET. An open tender was floated for the procurement of construction work, attracting four bids. Among them, two bids were deemed technically responsive. Following all tender processes and the recommendation of the Technical Evaluation Committee (TEC), the lowest responsive bidder, a joint venture of BTC and APL, was selected to implement the project at the aforementioned cost.
