London Bangladesh Mission Says Website Is Secure

The Bangladesh High Commission in London has described information circulating on social media about the mission as misleading, untrue and unfounded. In a press release issued on Friday, October 23, the mission said its own web portal remains safe and secure. It also clarified that it does not directly control the servers and technical systems used for visa services.

According to the statement, misleading claims about the mission could damage its reputation and create confusion among Bangladeshi expatriates living in the United Kingdom. The High Commission said there was no reasonable basis for spreading misleading information about the security and functionality of its web portal.

Visa systems managed centrally in Bangladesh

The High Commission said visa-related servers and associated technical operations are managed centrally by the relevant authorities based in Bangladesh. As a result, the mission in London has no direct control over or scope to intervene in the operation, maintenance or technical management of those systems.

The statement said it was therefore inappropriate to spread misleading claims holding the High Commission responsible for technical problems or operational issues involving the visa servers.

Commitment to consular services

The mission said it makes every effort to provide visa and other consular services as quickly as possible when applicants submit the required documents and complete the necessary information correctly.

The High Commission also said it gives high priority to protecting the interests and welfare of Bangladeshi citizens living in the United Kingdom and providing them with necessary consular and other services.

Maintaining strong relationships with expatriate communities, assisting them with legitimate rights and matters affecting their interests, and promoting Bangladesh’s image remain among the mission’s stated priorities.

It added that it remains committed to carrying out its responsibilities properly and continuing these efforts in the future.

Public urged to verify information officially

The High Commission has urged anyone with questions, complaints or concerns about its activities to verify information through the mission’s official communication channels rather than relying on claims circulated on social media. People may also contact the High Commission directly when necessary.
