NBR Number Nuisance: Chairman’s WhatsApp Hacked
The WhatsApp number of Md. Abdur Rahman Khan, Chairman of the National Board of Revenue (NBR), has been hacked. Messages requesting money are now being sent to various individuals from the compromised number. Several journalists have reportedly received such messages.
In one message sent to a journalist, the text read: “I need 35,000 BDT on bKash right now, can you send? I will return it tomorrow.” Another journalist received a similar message stating: “I need 30,000 BDT on bKash right now. Can you send? I will return it tomorrow.”
The NBR has urged everyone to remain cautious and not to be misled by these fraudulent messages.
