OpenAI is reportedly developing a social media platform similar to X (formerly Twitter), according to a report by The Verge. The prototype appears to center around ChatGPT’s image generation capabilities and also includes a social feed, Reuters reported.
Sources suggest that OpenAI CEO Sam Altman is personally seeking external feedback on the project. However, it remains unclear whether the platform will be launched as a standalone app or integrated into ChatGPT. “It is not finalized,” the report stated.
This development could potentially escalate tensions between OpenAI and Elon Musk, who has previously sued the company and made a multibillion-dollar ownership proposal—an offer that Altman rejected.
