BdNOG 17 Conference held at BPC Convention Hall
The seventeenth conference of Bangladesh Network Operators Group (bdNOG) held in Dhaka on Tuesday afternoon. This four-day-long conference will continue for the remaining three days of the hans on training workshop, which began with a presentation on Smart Bangladesh's security strategy.
More than 150 trainees are participating in the ongoing workshop in collaboration with Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB) and APNIC. Domestic and foreign instructors are training Internet engineers in Network Management and Monitoring (NMM) and Advanced BGP Routing.
Md. Rashedul Hasan, assistant manager of IT department of SIEMSolutions, spoke on the security system of information-data and event management in the first session of the conference, 'Operational Network-1', which started in the afternoon at the Bangladesh Tourism Corporation-BTC Convention Hall in Agargaon administrative area. Then Akhtar Ul Alam of WEEE Society Bangladesh delivered a presentation on Network Ewest. In the afternoon, Q S. Tahmeed of APNIC RCT taught IPv6 security and security techniques.
After the break, Mainul Hasan Allin of Janata WiFi Ltd shed light on the central and pyramid model of AI powered WiFi in Operational Network-2. Also Jobair Khan of APNIC presented the fact sheet of the network of Bangladesh.
On the other hand, IIJ Yoshinobu Matsuzaki shed light on the recent IRR changes. In the last session of the day, Md. Mehdi Hasan of Dhaka University gave technical guidance on enterprise virtualization using 'Proxmox' and 'Ceph' as best practices in data storage.
BdNOG General Secretary Barkatul Alom Biplob presided over the program. He said, from Wednesday to Friday, three-day long training will be held at Hotel Serena in Banani. The sessions will be conducted by APNIC trainers Dave Pehlan, Zobair Khan, Suman Saha of ADN Telecom, QS Tahmid of APNIC RCT, Aftab Siddiqui of ISCO, Md Rafeeun Noby Babir of APNIC CT and Shaila Sharmin of Prime Bank PLC.
