Undergraduate Selection For 2026-27 Session To Rely On Written Evaluation
BUET Admission Test On January 16

The academic administration of the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) has officially scheduled the undergraduate admission test for the 2026–27 session on Friday, January 16, 2027. The university formalized this timeline through a circular published on Monday, September 7, 2026.
Earlier, BUET Registrar Professor Nayeb Md. Golam Zakariya confirmed that the proposal had been submitted for final ratification during the Academic Council session convened on Monday, September 7.
In continuation of the technical assessment methodology deployed in the 2025–26 session, BUET will dispense with the preliminary screening exam. Candidates will be assessed and selected based entirely on the outcomes of a central written examination. Comprehensive operational parameters—including digital application intervals and subject-wise examination modalities—will be announced in a detailed bulletin.
Alongside BUET, more than ten major public tertiary institutions have finalized their entrance examination schedules for the 2026–27 cycle. The University of Dhaka, Khulna University, and the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) will conduct their examinations in December of the ongoing year. Furthermore, Rajshahi University, Jagannath University, the University of Chittagong, and Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) are scheduled to host their evaluations between January and February 2027.
Simultaneously, Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU) in Dinajpur announced its undergraduate test schedule for Level-1, Semester-1. The entry tests will run from January 24 through January 28, 2027. A press notification signed by HSTU Registrar Professor Abu Hasan confirmed that the schedule was established during the inaugural meeting of the Central Admission Committee.
