Welcome and Farewell Reception for Finance and Banking Department held at JUST
A welcome and farewell reception for the freshers of Finance and Banking (FB) Department of Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) held in various functions including discussion meeting, giving gifts to freshers, commemoration of outgoing students, color fest, Debate competition, recitation, dance, song and ramp show.
Today, Saturday afternoon, the welcome and farewell reception of the Finance and Banking (FB) Department was held at the central gallery of the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Academic Building of JUST. The Dean of the Faculty of Business Education and the Chairman of FB Department Dr. Mohammad Jahangir Alam was present as the chief guest.
At the discussion meeting, Dr. Mohammad Jahangir Alam said that today's youth are the key workers to face the challenges of the fourth industrial revolution and build a smart Bangladesh. Academic results alone are not enough to face the challenges of today's world, for this they need to acquire various 'soft skills'. In the discussion meeting, the other teachers of the department greeted the freshers and congratulated the outgoing students and shed light on the introduction of the department, teacher-student relationship, various facilities of the university, academic activities, co-educational activities, finance and banking careers and other contemporary issues.
Assistant Professor of Finance and Banking Department Dr. H. M. Shahriar, lecturer Al Amin Biswas, Nishat Rumali, Md. Shahanur Rahman, fourth year student of the same department Sohag Hossain, third year student Saima Akhter, second year student Amrin Sultana, first year student Faisal Ahmed and others spoke at the meeting. The discussion was moderated by fourth year student Meher Afroz and third year student Zakaria Habib Jim.
Commemorative gifts were given to outgoing students and new students were presented at the discussion meeting. Besides, three new teachers who joined the FB department were also formally welcomed with floral greetings. After the discussion meeting, the students participated in the ‘Color fest’ in the university premises. Debate competition was held after lunch break. In the afternoon, a wonderful cultural program was organized with the participation and performance of the teachers and students of the department.
