Families of flood affected DUET students are provided with financial assistance
Students of Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology -DUET, whose families were affected by the recent floods in Feni, Noakhali, Cumilla have been given financial assistance in the form of “Tokens of Love” from the funds raised in DUET for their rehabilitation.
The gift was presented today at 2.30 pm at a program organized in the seminar hall of the administration building of DUET.
23 students have been given financial gifts of various amounts considering the extent of the damage to the families of Duet students affected by the flood.
Coordinator of Fund Collection Mohammad Aman Ulla, Acting Vice-Chancellor of DUET Professor Dr. Arefin Kausar, Director of Student Welfare Professor Utfal Kumar Das, Dean of Electrical Engineering Department Professor Sharafat Hossain, Professor of Mathematics Department Md. Mahmud Alam were present in the program.
Acting Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Arefin Kausar in his speech thanked the initiators and all the students associated with the fund collection for undertaking this great work of DUETians and he hoped that DUETians will come forward unitedly in any national problem in the future.
It is to be noted that the students of DUET extended their helping hands to the flood victims from the beginning by conducting rescue operations and providing food items to those affected by the sudden rain in the south-eastern region of the country in the last month of August.
