Md Mustafizur Rahman, a graduate of the 26th batch of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) Department at Leading University in Sylhet, has formally joined the LPP7A project at Google’s data centre in Hamina, Finland, as a General Operative (Electrical). Alongside this professional achievement, he is completing the final semester of a Master of Science (MSc) programme in Finland.

Leading University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Taj Uddin congratulated Rahman on his international achievement. In a congratulatory message, he said Rahman’s dedication, technical skills and innovative mindset would inspire both current students and alumni. He also wished him a bright and successful future.

University stakeholders view the international achievements of students and alumni not only as individual milestones but also as reflections of the department’s academic preparation, guidance and professional connections.

Since taking over as department head, Md Niaz Morshedul Haque has worked to improve educational quality and strengthen ties between current students and alumni. A network developed through these initiatives is helping students receive practical guidance from former students working in industry and international organisations.

Through these connections, current students can gain insights into global job markets, postgraduate education, career planning and technical skills development. Alumni working at internationally recognised organisations may also help students explore global career pathways, professional referrals and scholarship opportunities.

Achievements such as Rahman’s can encourage current students to set ambitious goals and build confidence in pursuing international careers.

The EEE Department continues its coordinated efforts to maintain a quality learning environment and develop researchers and engineers capable of meeting international standards. Its alumni network is expected to remain an important source of professional guidance and inspiration for future graduates.
