Citing severe regional security risks, the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) has suspended a total of 141 international flights across various routes. Assistant Director of CAAB's Public Relations department, Kawsar Mahmud, confirmed these figures on Friday night, October 23, at 11:15 PM.

Correspondent sources reported that the suspensions were issued in accordance with international flight tracking protocols and real-time airspace security assessments. Relevant authorities stated that maintaining passenger safety and aircraft electronic monitoring remain paramount during this period of geopolitical tension.

CAAB statistics reveal that out of the 141 canceled flights, 66 are direct departures or arrivals, while 75 are connecting transit flights. Among the direct canceled routes, national carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines accounts for 27 flights, US-Bangla Airlines 10, Saudia 19, and Riyadh Air 10. Modern Air Traffic Control (ATC) systems and digital radar monitoring are continuously analyzing flight paths to coordinate with global aviation bodies regarding safest re-routing options.

Additionally, disrupted transit connections led to the suspension of 75 flights, including 29 by IndiGo, 7 by Salam Air, 1 by EgyptAir, 14 by Emirates, 9 by Qatar Airways, 8 by flydubai, and 7 by Air India. CAAB official Kawsar Mahmud noted that if regional airspace safety does not improve, the suspension of flight operations will persist. Passengers are advised to verify real-time flight statuses through official digital portals and airline helpdesks prior to heading to the airport.
