Meta’s ‘Instagram Edits’ Makes Monumental Milestone
Meta’s new video editing app, 'Instagram Edits,' surpassed the initial record of CapCut by amassing more than 7.1 million downloads within its first week, according to a report by TechCrunch.
Data from Appfigures reveals that within the first two days of release, Edits was downloaded approximately 703,000 times on the iOS platform, nearly 37 times higher than CapCut’s early figures. In the United States alone, Edits garnered 381,000 downloads within the first three days, compared to just 3,400 downloads for CapCut during the same period.
On its launch day, Edits climbed to the top spot on the US App Store. Although CapCut’s current global download count has surpassed 1.22 billion, experts believe that Meta’s expansive network could help Edits rapidly gain widespread popularity.
However, some criticisms have emerged regarding Edits, particularly concerning the lack of advanced features found in CapCut.
