JASHORE: Championing physical fitness, mental resilience, and personal defense readiness among students, the JUST Sports Club at Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) conducted the graduation ceremony of its 3rd self-defense martial arts cohort, alongside an orientation for its incoming 4th batch. The event and live technical exhibition took place at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, 8 September 2026, at the Prof. Mohammad Sharif Hossain Gallery in the Kazi Nazrul Islam Academic Building, organized in collaboration with the Directorate of Student Counseling and Guidance.

The ceremony was addressed by JUST Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Yearul Kabir as chief guest, with University Treasurer Professor Dr. Mohammad Faruque Hasan present as special guest.

During the inaugural segment, graduating trainees from the third batch were awarded completion certificates, while fresh inductees of the fourth cycle received a formal welcome. In addition, juvenile practitioners from the regular training tracks received graded advancement belts and black belts. The administration also conferred special honors on two outstanding campus athletes—Md. Saidul Islam of the Petroleum and Mining Engineering (PME) Department and Fayek Muntasir of the Marketing Department—for securing silver medals at the National Sylhet Wushu Championship.

Addressing the audience, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Yearul Kabir observed, "Martial arts transcends routine physical exercise; it cultivates focus, mental discipline, and essential self-preservation reflexes. Such proficiency cannot be mastered overnight and demands sustained, dedicated practice."

Presided over by Director of Student Counseling and Guidance Dr. Md. Rafiul Hasan, the gathering was also addressed by JUST Proctor Dr. Md. Hamidur Rahman and JUST Sports Club President Ismail Hossain. The session concluded with practical demonstrations exhibiting unarmed street combat defense, baton and sword choreography, juvenile Tai-Chi forms, and precision striking. The three-month specialized course is instructed by Ismail Hossain, an International Olympic Solidarity-certified Grade-A technical coach.
