JUST Joins Nation in Honoring Martyred Intellectuals
Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) observed Martyred Intellectuals Day 2025 through a series of solemn events, including the hoisting of a black flag in front of the university administrative building, half-masting of the national and university flags, floral tributes at the Shaheed Buddhijibi Memorial in Jashore city, and special prayers at the university’s central mosque.
The day began at sunrise with the black flag hoisting and flag half-masting at the administrative building, attended by the university treasurer, Professor Dr. Hossain Al Mamun.
On Sunday, December 14, at 9:00 am, JUST Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Majid’s representative, Dr. Md. Korban Ali, convener of the Deans’ Committee, laid floral wreaths at the Shaheed Buddhijibi Memorial in Shankarpur, Jashore, along with members of the university community.
Other participants included Deans Dr. Md. Amjad Hossain, Professor Dr. Md. Sirajul Islam, Professor Dr. Shirin Nigar, Dr. Md. Ziaul Amin, Proctor Dr. Eng. Imran Khan, Director of Student Counseling and Guidance Dr. Md. Rafiul Islam, department chairpersons, heads of offices, faculty, students, and staff.
After Zuhr prayers, special du’a and monajat were held at the central mosque of the university to pray for the souls of the martyred intellectuals. The prayers were led by the senior resident imam of the central mosque, Maulana Md. Akramul Islam.
