Kaspersky Appoints Simon Tung to Strengthen ASEAN Cyber Strategy
Global cybersecurity and digital privacy firm Kaspersky has appointed Simon Tung as the new General Manager for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and Asia Emerging Countries (AEC). Based in Singapore, Tung will lead Kaspersky’s business strategy, market expansion, and operational direction across these regions. His role includes enhancing Kaspersky’s market presence, developing new partnerships, and improving the overall standard of cybersecurity services.
Kaspersky Bangladesh announced on Sunday, November 9, that the appointment took effect on October 21.
Commenting on his new role, Simon Tung said:
“The ASEAN region holds tremendous potential for digital development, but this potential can only be realized when trust and security are ensured. Kaspersky’s global expertise and strong technology solutions give us an advantage in tackling cyber threats. I am delighted to lead the team in this region and develop new partnerships. My goal is to strengthen our team, enhance partner relationships, and tailor cybersecurity solutions to meet real business needs while bringing Kaspersky’s global experience into localized action.”
Adrian Hia, Managing Director for Kaspersky Asia-Pacific, stated:
“The ASEAN region is a rapidly evolving and strategically significant market for Kaspersky. The region’s digital progress and increasing cyber risks — from ransomware attacks on critical infrastructure to financial phishing — make our work more essential than ever.”
He further added:
“We are committed to increasing investment and partnerships in the region over the next three years, alongside expanding the reach of our cybersecurity solutions. Simon Tung’s strategic vision and practical experience will help advance these efforts. Under his leadership, we believe we will not only achieve our business objectives but also strengthen the region’s overall cyber defense capabilities.”
