All public-private universities can take the exam online
All public and private universities in the country will be able to test students online, said the Minister of Education Dr. Dipu Moni. She made the remarks at a virtual press conference on Wednesday (May 26) on ongoing holidays in the country's educational institutions and various issues related to education.
At the same time, as part of the plan to increase vocational education, honors-masters will be discontinued at private colleges and short and diploma courses in vocational and technical subjects will be conducted there, he said.
Regarding online classes for students, he said, “The Ministry of Education, in consultation with the University Grants Commission, has launched online education activities through BD Rain's Zoom Platform since March 2020. Students of public and private universities in the country still take online classes. The total number of which is 8 crore 40 lakh 60 thousand 638 people. 16 lakh 48 thousand 584 as hour. 18,157 teachers of public and private universities are taking classes on the zoom platform. In addition, some universities have started online education activities using their own platform or app.
Regarding online exams, Dipu Moni said the Ministry of Education had formed a 10-member committee headed by a member of the University Grants Commission (UGC) on April 1 to formulate a short and long-term framework for universities to take exams online. The committee submitted a report to the education ministry on May 9 and the ministry approved the outline on May 23. Then on May 24, the outline was sent to all public and private universities of the country for implementation. Now all the universities will be able to take exams online by following the procedure prescribed by their students.

Golam Farooq, Director General of the Department of Primary Education Alamgir Muhammad Mansurul Alam, Chairman of the Dhaka Board of Education Professor Nehal Ahmed and others were connected at the press conference.
