Palak warned to stop all the gambling apps
State Minister for Posts, Telecommunication and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak said that online gambling apps will be completely stopped. Since illegal propaganda on social media is extremely harmful to individuals, institutions and states as well, strict measures should be taken against those who are engaged in these activities to stop it at any cost.
The state minister gave this instruction while visiting the Cyber Thread Detention and Response Center set up at the Department of Telecommunication headquarters in Dhaka on Sunday, February 4. He directed the stakeholders to play a strong role in stopping 100% gambling apps at any cost.
Earlier, the state minister gave guidance to the officials on how to get good results through the use of scarce resources in a meeting with the officials of the Directorate of Telecommunication in the conference room.
Post and Telecommunication Division Secretary Abu Hena Morshed Zaman, Additional Secretary Mohammad Golam Sarwar E Kaynat, Director General of Telecommunication Department Md. Rafiqul Islam, Additional Director General Md. Sahab Uddin along with officials of Posts and Telecommunications Division and Directorate of Telecommunication were present.
In the event, Zunaid Ahmed Palak emphasized the need for short-, medium- and long-term planning and its implementation to make the Directorate of Telecommunication a useful institution for Smart Bangladesh.
He said, in the new year 2024, the head of government, Bangabandhu's daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given us a new vision. She wants us to build a smart Bangladesh by building a modern version of Bangabandhu's dream of Sonar Bangla, skilled human resources, cashless and paperless society and government system. The state minister mentioned that, the next 5 years are very important for the implementation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's Smart Bangladesh Vision 2041.
With the inspiration and advice of Prime Minister's Information and Communication Technology Advisor Sajeeb Wazed Joy, he said, Bangabandhu’s daughter announced the Digital Bangladesh vision in 2008. Digital Bangladesh is now a role model for the world today after the announcement of the plan, a detailed plan, a roadmap for the implementation of the plan and successful implementation. Similarly, we have a long journey of 17 years ahead of us. In the next 17 years, how will we implement the vision of Smart Bangladesh? In the next 5 years, we have to build its foundation. Based on the 4 pillars of Smart Citizen, Smart Economy, Smart Society and Smart Government, we need to make an action plan considering the role of the Department of Telecommunication in the implementation of Smart Bangladesh, what the plan is and how much it is related to the Prime Minister's vision. The Minister of State directed the concerned to provide a detailed plan of what daily, monthly and yearly work the officials of the Department of Telecommunication will do and what will be its output and a comparative picture of the achievements of the previous years.
