CHATTOGRAM: The Inter-Hall Football Competition 2026 of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) commenced with enthusiasm at the university's central playground. Supervised by the Directorate of Student Welfare and organized by the Physical Education Centre, the tournament was formally inaugurated on Wednesday afternoon, 9 September 2026.
CUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Abu Sadat Muhammad Sayem attended the opening ceremony as chief guest. The event featured Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering Prof. Dr. Kazi Delwar Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology Prof. Dr. Mohammad Abu Kawsar, Dean of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Prof. Dr. Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, Dean of Architecture and Planning Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rashidul Hasan, and Acting Registrar Prof. Dr. Sheikh Mohammad Humayun Kabir as special guests.
Presided over by Director of the Directorate of Student Welfare Prof. Dr. Md. Saiful Islam, the program was moderated by Deputy Chief Physical Education Officer Mohammad Jasim Uddin.
In the tournament opener, Muktijoddha Hall went head-to-head against Shaheed Abu Sayed Hall. Following a goalless stalemate in regulation time, the match transitioned into a penalty shootout, where Muktijoddha Hall secured a commanding 4-1 victory over Shaheed Abu Sayed Hall.
A total of six residential halls are contending for this year's championship: Kavi Kazi Nazrul Islam Hall, Shaheed Mohammad Shah Hall, Shaheed Tareq Huda Hall, Dr. Qudrat-i-Khuda Hall, Shaheed Abu Sayed Hall, and Muktijoddha Hall.
