Engineer Rehan Asif Asad, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Posts, Telecommunications, ICT, and Science & Technology, has called upon young Bangladeshi innovators to dream big and lead the Fourth Industrial Revolution by presenting their talents to the global market. "The talent and innovation of our youth are second to none in the world. They must not restrict their ambitions within national boundaries; rather, they must strive to conquer the global stage," he emphasized.

He made these remarks as a special guest during the inauguration of the 'National Semiconductor Symposium and Biotechnology, Electronics, AI & Robotics Summit-2026' held at the Novo Theatre in Tejgaon, Dhaka, on Saturday (July 25).

Reflecting on his extensive international career and his recent five months in government service, Rehan Asif Asad stated, "While Bangladesh missed out on earlier industrial revolutions, we now stand at the threshold of the AI and semiconductor-driven Fourth Industrial Revolution. Semiconductor technology and interconnectivity form the heart and soul of this modern era. If our engineers and young minds capture this space, we can define not only our future but also the technological future of the world."

Demonstrating the government's strong commitment to fostering local talent, the Advisor highlighted that the government has already implemented a 100% VAT exemption for the semiconductor industry, with further tax reliefs actively being pursued. Additionally, the government is committed to setting up state-of-the-art laboratory facilities in educational institutions and transforming the Janata Tower into a high-capacity GPU computing center to empower local AI innovators. He assured that local startups will receive continuous mentoring and financial backing to scale up internationally.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman graced the summit as the Chief Guest. Special guest speeches were also delivered by Minister for Posts, Telecommunications, ICT, and Science & Technology Fakir Mahbub Anam, alongside Science & Technology Secretary M Anwar Hossain. M A Jabbar, President of the Bangladesh Semiconductor Industry Association, delivered the welcome address. The keynote address was presented by Prof. Muhammad Mustafa Hussain of Purdue University, USA, who serves as the convener of Bangladesh's long-term semiconductor and deep-tech strategy initiative.
