ICT Division Mourns Death of Begum Khaleda Zia
The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division has expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Begum Khaleda Zia, Chairperson of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and former Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
In a condolence message issued on behalf of the ICT Division, Secretary Shish Haider Chowdhury said Begum Khaleda Zia was a symbol of influential and historic leadership in Bangladesh’s political landscape. He noted that she played a significant role in the movement for the restoration of democracy, the consolidation of the parliamentary democratic system, and the development of a multi-party political framework in the country.
As a former Prime Minister, her contributions to state governance—particularly in upholding the continuity of democratic institutions and expanding the scope of political participation—will remain a memorable chapter in Bangladesh’s political history, the message said. Her passing, the secretary added, marks the end of a critically important era in the nation’s history.
The ICT Division prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and extended deep condolences to the bereaved family members, colleagues, and followers.
